The eight candidates vying to be the Republican nominee for president in the 2008 elections answered questions submitted by CNN and YouTube users in a debate Wednesday night.

The CNN YouTube Republican Debate is now reschedule for November 28th. The Democratic Candidates’ version was interesting, entertaining, and perhaps even enlightening.  Most sources seemed to agree that the CNN YouTube Debate format is now the new standard in the political elections arena.

Republican presidential candidate Fred Thompson’s website, www.fred08.com, was the most visited website among all presidential candidates for the week ending September 8, 2007. Fred08.com received 34 percent of US visits amongst all the presidential candidate websites for that week.

Senator Barack Obama is leading all presidential candidates in visitors to their campaign Web sites, The Nielsen Company reported today. Among Republicans, Fred Thompson’s ImWithFred.com drew the most unique visitors in July, with 381,000, even though he had not yet announced his candidacy.

CNN YouTube Debate Format Has Profound Affect on Politics
The CNN YouTube Democratic Candidates Debate seems to have changed the political process as we use to know it. The spectacle was a cross between an old fashioned town hall meeting, a game show and the Daily Show. Yet, it was more than entertainment. Rather, it exhibited more than glimmers of thought, sincerity and a glimpse of the candidates as people. While it was well-orchestrated, there was an element of spontaneity that could not be missed.
