The eight candidates vying to be the Republican nominee for president in the 2008 elections answered questions submitted by CNN and YouTube users in a debate Wednesday night.

CNN/You Tube Debate Wrap-Up

The Republican CNN You Tube Debate took place on November 28th. While the format was quite promising in August with the Democrats, it fell strangely flat with the Republicans. 4926 questions were submitted to CNN for consideration. The CNN panel selected less than 10% for the debate. The chosen questions covered far fewer issues than those questions for the democrats. Obviouslywe can only draw one or two conclusions:

  •  The 4926 submitted questions were narrow and boring; or
  • The CNN selection committee did a less than stellar job.

Regardless, the format itself is a winner with great potential. We hope it’s used for the presidential election more than once.
