Responsys Top Dog in Email Marketing?

Responsys announced that JupiterResearch has scored Responsys highest overall among large-enterprise-oriented email service providers (ESPs) in the newly released 2006 Email Marketing Buyer’s Guide. The high score is based on combined business value and market suitability, and reflects Responsys' strengths in executive leadership, product innovation, award-wining marketing approach, and services capabilities. This is the second consecutive year that Responsys has earned the highest combined score in its category in JupiterResearch’s annual evaluation.

“Responsys continues to lead the feature race, implementing a drag-and-drop life cycle campaign builder, which is further enhanced by a simulation tool that allows marketers to easily see the manner in which mailings will flow,” wrote David Daniels, research director in the Email Marketing Buyer’s Guide, 2006 published today. “Additionally, the company acquired INBOX Marketing during the past year to further bolster its services capabilities. Integration to leading Web analytics remains tight, and Responsys also improved its infrastructure.”

In this year’s comprehensive review, JupiterResearch evaluated 15 ESPs with a large-enterprise market focus. JupiterResearch defines large-enterprise-oriented ESPs as having “one or more of the following characteristics: 50 percent or more of their clients have revenues of more than $20 million and/or their client mailing volumes are more than is the average ESP client mailing volume.”
